Marlin 39A Buttplate

I recently bought a Marlin Model 39A from my neighbor who moved back to Chicago from Arizona. The rifle has a serial number led by the letter P so I believe it was made in 1957. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. It looks to be in good condition except it is missing the buttplate. I checked with Numrich but no luck.

Does anyone know where I might find a buttplate? Was the original plastic? Was it embossed with the Marlin logo? Thanks in advance for your help.

The issue white line spacer can be duplicated via cutting the side out of a large (empty/rinsed) white plastic Clorox bleach bottle, popping two holes appropriately spaced for the BP screws, attaching it under the BP and carefully paring off the excess with a sharp whittling/pen knife blade.
