H hodaka New member Oct 16, 2006 #1 I see that Gun Parts has factory octagon barrels for Marlins for only $51. I'm thinking about converting my old round barrelled rifle. How hard is it to change barrels? Is it screwed onto the receiver or pined? Is indexing an issue? Thanks.

D Dfariswheel New member Oct 16, 2006 #2 The Marlin 39 barrels are screwed on. They MUST be indexed and head-spaced. In other words, qualified gunsmith ONLY installation.
