I love lever guns and have numerous. I got a Marlin 336BL because of the short barrel and large loop. I have a bunch of Marlins, all of which were great, right out of the box. This is the first one since the remington buyout and I was not pleased. After putting the first round in through the loading gate, it was virtually impossible to continue entering rounds. I sent the gun back and it was returned yesterday after 5 weeks, with the problem untended to. They claim to have have repaired a broken screw but there is no difference.
I would like to have some suggestions as to how to fix this problem, but, the gun already carries that intangible "lack of confidence" thing that will mean it will likely stay at camp when I go out. I was really looking forward to this purchase and this is a real shame, because I saved a long time to buy it and it probably has ruined the Marlin brand for me (perhaps irrationally, but trust is very important with guns, at least for me).
