can anyone give me any info on this rifle? how old it is, its approx. value, ANYTHING.
has anyone even heard of it?

Don't see anything on a 25-20m. Brophy's book lists Models 25, 25M, 25MB, 25N &25MN.
Can you describe the firearm in question and/or photos?

25-20 win

This cartridge was produced by Remington. Not sure of the dates, but must have stopped making them in the late 60's.
Loads were; 86 grn lead, mv-1460ft/sec,me-405ft/lbs.. 86grn soft point,mv-1525ft/sec,me-405 ft/lbs.. 60 grn hollow point,mv-2250ft/sec, me-675 ft/sec.. These figures are using a 24in. barrel. Sorry , this is the only info i could find.

A Marlin MODEL 25 (no "20m" in the designation) can be either a .22 short pump or a .22 lr or .22 magnum bolt action.

A Marlin in .25-20 CALIBER can be either an old or new model '94 lever action or a model 27 pump.

We need lots more information to discuss what you have. A full description is necessary and a good picture will be a help.

There was a .25-20 Marlin cartridge which, IIRC, was the same as the.25-20 Winchester. Just a another case of a gun maker not wanting to put a competitor's name on his rifles. (There also were .32-20 Marlin, .38-40 Marlin, etc. They were the same as the Winchester counterparts.)

I believe I owned the rifle you speak of.
Actally, it was stuck up above the ductwork of my my parent's house.

It was a Marlin pump action rifle chambered for the .25-20 cartridge. Tube fed ?
