Marlin 1895 45-70 who ones one?

I have been looking at the 1896G at my local dealer when I opened the 2001 Marlin catalog, they have the new 1895CB(Cowboy) in 26", I know they had an 1895 LTD in 24" before, but this one caught my eye. How do you like these guns?M33

I have the "G". I love it. If I were buying one now, I would go for the 1895G in stainless. Best advice is to handle and shoot both long and short barrels (if you can) before you buy.

I've been looking for one of these, as well. I don't like the porting on the G version, but I'd like a shorter barrel, so I'm thinking of the 1895SS.

Haven't seen the 2001 catalog yet, though.
