Actually I dont know if this is a problem but I just bought a brand new Marlin 1894C and after closely inspecting it I realized that the trigger was very loose and wiggly even when cocked. The carbine still shoots and seems to fuction fine but that trigger is awfuly loose. Is there something wrong or is this normal.

marlin 336 35 cal.

has about 1/8" back and forth play, also side to side play. but i bought this weapon around 1968. it stll shoots good as when i first bought it. rich

Well I guess its normal , damn there is always at least 1 thing about a gun I buy that just really gets to me, I hate loose parts in guns and wiggly triggers...even if its supposed to be like that ...grrrrr

It is the way it is built with a pistol action instead of a rifle action. I have had one for years and it has served me well. You never notice the take up when you shoot it and mine is stock with a very nice trigger pull. I think it is the best thing going for CAS.

The wiggly trigger is a known "feature" of the Marlin and there are lots of after-market replacements if it really bugs you. I keep thinking about having mine replaced, but have never gotten around to it.
