Marksmanship improving, if slowly...

Went shooting yesterday, and found out that I can do better than before. Slinged up, standing, I can hit an empty pistol ammo box (3"x4"?) reliably at 25m with the .303

Considering I could not hit a 9" dinner plate half the time before, that is an improvement. From a rest, I can keep the group at about 1" at 25m -- not great, but not as bad as it used to be. Thanks all for advice given.

PS: EVERYONE likes the .303 and the Marlin .80 .22, for all that they look old and battered. I am a fan of cheap and nasty guns that are 1)reliable 2)pleasant to use 3)cheap to feed. Q would rather I had one good gun of each type instead...not that my whole collection of lead-spouters would buy even one "real good" rifle!
