I have a line on a s&w model 29 44 mag with 8" barrel in excellent condition for 350 dollars US. Is this a fair price?

Several things are working against the gun. First, its a S&W. Not real popular right now. Second, its a revolver. Autos are hot, revolvers are not. However, since its a .44 magnum revolver, that's a plus. Third, that 8 3/8" barrel isn't for everybody. Most folks don't like that long of a tube. You really gotta find someone who wants it.
If it is indeed in good condition, I'd give $350 for it. But, I'd do some serious hagglin' first and try to drop the price some.

big bore - Welcome to The Firing Line. I think $350 for Model 29 in exc. condition would be a very good price, go for it.

Also, I would be remiss if I didn't ask you to use that "Reply w/Quote" button sparingly, only when you really need to quote from a previous post. The best way to reply is to use the "Post Reply" button at the top or bottom. It saves a lot of our disk space.

$350 is not out of line. I bought a nickeled 4" P&R for $285, but the 4" is the least popular length. If it is not P&R I would try to get them down closer to $300.
