"Marine Tuf-Cloth"

Kentucky Rifle

New member
I've been wiping down my older blue carry revolvers with one of these since summer began in Kentucky. (This is a hot one, too.) So far, so good--no rust. I use the "Tuf-Cloth" about once a month. Does anyone else use one of these things? Is it really working, or am I just lucky? It would kill me to hurt one of these "older guys". I seem to have always purchased a blue revolver to mark some occasion. Hey! What better way to mark a special day than to buy a new revolver? :)

Got one.

Used to use it on guns but now I use Johnson's wax instead. You should probably wipe down after every carry. Never had anything rust I used it on. Now I use the liquid recharging agent, Tuf-Glide, as dry lubricant in the actions of my .22s. The carbon just brushes out.

I have one and use it for my knives and non-blued metal widgets. In my utterly nonscientific experience, the stuff REALLY works well.

The only reason I don't use it for my guns is that, well, I had no idea whether it was good to use on blued metal, and I keep my guns locked up in a dry gunsafe and oil them regularly...never had trouble with rust.

Talked to these guys at the Blade Show

Greetings Kentucky Rifle,

The "Tuf-Cloth" shouldn't cause any harm to your "older guys" at all.

The "Tuf-Cloth" folks are a small, family owned business, and I ended up having a very enjoyable conversation with both Father and Son about their products.

The "Marine" Tuf-Cloth that you use has a good deal more of their dry lubricant than their regular product. As an aside, "Marine" Tuf-Cloth came into being at the request of a SEAL team. As the story was related to me, this team was cleaning their equipment after a prolonged, 12 plus hour, exposure to salt water, and the regular Tuf-Cloth didn't have enough solution to finish the job.

Hope this helps.

Regards
