Marine magnum

I've owned a couple of 870s, but this is my first Marine magnum. The owners manual doesn't specify how to disassemble this model. Am I suppose to loosen the screw for the extended magazine clamp/sling pivot, and then crank on the magazine cap (located after the forestock) like it was a regular 870? Is there a different method?

Thanks

Except for the mag extension clamp, it comes apart like a regular 870.
I have the same factory extension on all my 870's.
Loosen the screw for the clamp and slide the clamp off. Then loosen the extension and collar (together if you can) and remove them like they were just a normal mag cap. If the extension comes off by itself then remove the collar as if it was a regular mag cap. If the collar is a little too tight and you need a tool, be careful not to squeeze so much that you squish it out of round. They are pretty tough though so you'd have to be a gorilla to hurt one but I've friend's who break off lug nuts!
Have fun with a great shotgun.

Hey thanks. I thought that's what needed to be done, but I wanted to make sure before I started cranking to hard on things. Wow, that is one beautiful shotgun!

Yep, they are nice. My buddy has a MM and the finish is just amazing. Beware. You will soon be addicted like the rest of us.
