Margines on factory ammo

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what kind of profit margins that gun shops make on ammunition?

Dealer price + 40% = Retail price. If the Gun shop buys in large amounts from the factory, has it drop shipped to business, it would be more. Not all ammo is sold at full retail list price.

...on how much he paid for them and how much he gets for them!

40% is a fair markup. Lots of department and retail outlets sell non-firearm merchandise at 100% markup and more.
