Manurhin PP - How to tell when it was made

Ok, I have read the other posts about the Manurhin PP and I haven't been able to figure this out. This is what I know, but I feel like there are "holes" in it:

There seems to be 3 "versions" of the Manurhin PP.

One when they where making them for Walther because Walther couldn't make them right after WWII. This was in the early 50s, I believe. These are marked with the Manurhin banner, as made in France and some verbage about being under license of Walther.

Then there were the ones that were made by Manurhin, but sent to Walther in Germany to be proofed and stamped. Not sure how these were marked.

Finally, there are the Manurhin PPs that were made up to 1986 (I think) and don't mention Walther at all. They simple have the Manurhin banner and "Model PP" and "Made in France" on them.

As I have only read this information and not actually "touched" and seen this info first hand, I am sure I have holes in what I know. I have done the reading at www.cruffler.com/historic-march00.html and www.geocities.com/Pentagon/Quarters/2188/, and I have gotten some info out of 2001 Standard Catalog of Firearms and the Blue Book of Gun Values.

Can somebody help me with this? I would like to get this straight in my mind. I am purchasing a Manurhin PP and want to make sure I know which one/what I am getting.

Thanks!!!!!
