manufacture date of colt frontier scout

trying to find out manufacture date of my late fathers colt frontier scout .22. also would like to replace the magnum cylinder that got lost. all i have is the s.n. 24021k
 
Frontier Scouts with the K suffix where produced from 1960-1970. They were a Zamac alloy frame version of the "Q" Model. "Qs" had an alloy frame and were produced from 1957-1970, some with extra cylinders. My Blue Book does not show the Ks coming with an extra cylinder. The Qs were heavier than the Ks. Your Dad may have special ordered it.

You can get an exact date of mfg from Colt for a fee.

thanks for the info i think i will leave the scout as is without a magnum cylinder if it is lighter than the Q thanks again. M.J.M.
