Manufacture date Model 11

New to TFL I've read several threads about how to date a Model 11, and I'm still having trouble dating the gun I received from my father. According to Remington Society web site the serial log book shows a date of December 1919 for a 205XXX serial number, however the barrel date code “PY8” dates it to June of 1930. Is it possible that the barrel is not original to this gun? Is there a way to confirm which date is correct? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
1-800-243-9700 is Remington's service number. If you call during normal business hours and work through the phone tree,they will give you the day it left the factory.

Barrels were often swapped or replaced.
