Manufacture date for Walter PPK

I'm looking to buy an Interarms Walther PPK with serial number A030XXX. My google is strong but I'm not having luck determining when it was made. Can anyone help? This is the place of experts! Thanks, Major

Maybe early 1989. Interarms info is hard to come by. Based on a few reported dates of IA PPKs, yours was made before this one, a PPK Stainless .380 A043149, with a 11/7/1989 test target. I found this on another forum.

Thank you, that helps. The gun is in almost perfect condition, used with two magazines. The seller is asking $550.00. Doesn't seem out of line.

Assuming it's a stainless .380, which almost all of them are, IMHO that's a fair price – not a steal, but I'd probably be willing to pay it if I wanted the gun bad enough.

If it's a .32 and/or blued, those are more rare, and command higher prices. In these cases, it could be a BUY NOW situation.

Carguychris, Yes, it's stainless in .380 acp. I bought it this morning. The gun is virtually brand new. I stripped it down in the gun shop and inspected it closely. It was spotless and I couldn't see any wear anywhere. If it was fired, it was barely fired. You could put it in a box, tell me it was new and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The $550 seemed OK, not a steal, but I wanted the Interarms version as opposed to the S&W version and the PPK as opposed to the PPK/S. So, I'm happy. A nice addition to my collection!

I bought a PPK/S NIB with 3 mags for $579 a few months ago. I believe it was built in 1999 in Gadsden, AL.
