Mandatory Evacuation for the hurricane has been ordered?

I'm sorry but this is gun-related since I would defend my house with force and arms if I didn't WANT to leave of my own accord, and the gov't tried to force me to leave. FLA has issued mandatory evacuation orders for mobile home residents and others. WTH? This is America Jack - a man's home is his castle. Evacuating should be purely optional - they gov't may highly recommend it, but not force it. Would you shoot at those who tried to forcibly remove you if you did not want to go? I honestly think I would take that stand. How can the gov't force you to leave your castle solely to save your own skin, something which you should have the right to do or ignore. This really chaps my hide. (Personally, I WOULD get the heck out, but this is a matter of principle).

Up until this a year, I was always led to believe that what you say is true.
During the fires of 98 the Volusia Cty sheriff even stated that they could not rmove you from your dwelling but if you step out you could be arrested.

Sometime between then and now apparently something has chnged. A Volusoia county emergency management official stated on TV yesterday that LE did have the authority to forcefull remove you.

Apparently a mandated State Of Emergency is actually a scaled down version of a state of Martial Law and civil liberties give way for the greater good.

I can see policing areas but not forcefully removing citizens from their homes.
This is America we were endowed by our creator the absolute right to be stupid on our own property

Right, unless we're harming someone else. If we're not, then it can't have any effect on the "greater good". Even if it did, Martial law ain't constitutional is it? Hmmm. When exactly does Martial law pass Const. muster? I should know, but I don't. Sure doesn't seem right. You got a warrant for a crime I committed? Great, c'mon in and arrest me.....You don't? Then does the phrase 'pound sand' have any meaning to you, officer? No? Then how about 'M1 GUH-rand'?

I did alot of googling but cannot find a good comparison of a State of Emergency and Martial Law. But I do know that the Guard was called out last time and strict curfews are already in effect in certain areas.

They can patrol my strret to protect my house when I'm following their directions and am away from my home. If I'm there already I pretty much don't need them.

I fully understand and support creatring offlimit areas and denying access to those areas. But in my case I have no place to go, so evicting me would be putting me in harms way. Or in a shelter which is close to the same thing.

Don't you remember the phrase that was repeated over and over again with other assorted audio and visual props; "America has changed"

It goes along with the demise of personal responsibility. The rationale is that if you stay, they'll wind up endangering themselves to come bail you out.

We wouldn't tolerate the thought that you might just be left to take the consequences of your own decisions, now would we?
