Here is a latest bit of Clinton news:

Although I think the guy is nuts if he actually did this, the one lingering question that I have is: :Do the feds have radio direction finding equipment and personell set up all over the place and they just beam in on and direction find anyone who is "a subervise?" Or was he caught after doing this many times?

San Diego man arrested for threatening President Clinton

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- A 43-year-old San Diego man was arrested by the U.S. Secret Service
after broadcasting threats on a radio channel that he planned to harm President Clinton.

Christopher Sandall is charged with making threatening statements Saturday, the day after Clinton visited the San Diego area.

Authorities said the threats were broadcast on a maritime channel usually reserved as a
distress frequency.

Sandall said his threats were not a "game" on tapes made by police, said Secret Service Special Agent Robert McAfee in a sworn statement filed this week in federal court.

U.S. Coast Guard officials warned Sandall on the radio channel that it should be used only for distress signals, but Sandall told them he didn't care, McAfee said.

Authorities used radio direction-finding equipment and found Sandall walking down Pacific Highway with a radio attached to his shorts, McAfee said.

Court documents said Sandall admitted threatening "someone named Bill C."

A request will be made asking that Sandall be held without bond, said Assistant U.S.
Attorney Jill Burkhardt.

If convicted, Sandall faces up to five years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.

Threats made from a boat radio?

Well, that's it for boaters. How long before Feinstein demands "boat control" on the floor of Congress? How long before all boats must have two serial numbers (one invisible under normal light?) How long before boat locks become mandatory? How long before Chris Craft becomes Clinton Craft after an agreement to ban "Saturday Night Boats" from harbors and marinas?

The horror ...

Funny how threatening Bill C. with words gets you arrested, but carrying an AK-47 to a Bush event is not considered a threat. So who said the 1st amendment was not under attack.

I've long thought that there would be a market for life-size photo targets of his Billness. I've been advised, though, that they might well be illegal under these same laws.

Well, I can't say about "all over the place", but it's a fair bet that they have radio direction finding equipment and personel set up along the coast, monitoring "maritime distress frequencies". At least, they're supposed to!

Anyone remember a few years back when "Slick Willie" had a woman arrested for telling him that he sucks? Bill is not the biggest believer in our Constitution.

You can defeat radio DF'ing by staying mobile. Sounds like this guy was on the move, but on foot. By changing locations frequently, you cannot be fixed. However, movement must be random, not in a straight line, or your next location can be easily deduced. Tall buildings, mountains, forested areas can all effect the DFer's ability to get a precise fix on you. Likewise, your transmissions may also be effected. This information is for instructional purposes only, to be used when TSHTF. (A topo map would come in handy also). Speed is the name of the game. Transmit and get the hell out.

Sodbuster: Depends on whether they're trying to find your direction from one reciever or two; With one reciever, mounted on a truck, (This is how the FCC tracks down sources of interference, and pirate radio stations.) you can confuse 'em by moving around, because they take a bearing, move, take another bearing, head towards the theoretical interstection, and repeat. Takes a bit of time, which you can use to go someplace else.

If they're triangulating from TWO or more recievers, which I believe is the case with marine distress signals, they'll get two simultaineous bearings, and nail you even if you ARE moving around.

In any event, the guy was a ditz if he didn't think he'd get caught, using the marine distress frequency; Of COURSE they can triangulate that, how do you think they find people making distress calls?

Personally, I can't see any circumstance under which it would make sense to threaten the President, no matter how much of a scum wad he was. Even assuming you DID think he was better off dead, why warn him that you were coming after him?

I don't think this is anything new. I believe its been illegal to threaten the president for a long time now. At least several administrations.

Go to www.worldnetdaily.com and enter the search engine. Look for the key word "echelon." You will find a raft of articles about a super secret electronic spying network that monitors ALL electronic communications around the globe. The scope of this monster is breath-taking. Representative Bob Barr of Georgia is on the warpath due to the civil liberty implications. There is enough monitoring going on out there to scare the h*ll out of liberty loving people. I have personal evidence the federales monitor website for specific topics.
