Unbelievable!

:barf: That is the luckiest guy I have ever seen in my life. He needs to immediately go the the store and buy some lottery tickets. HE WILL WIN for sure.

Lord he is lucky! I am often amazed at what the human body can withstand. You would think the shock from that would be enough to kill someone let alone the size of that hole.

Funky description. It says he caught it under the collar bone, but the entry and exit are on the back. ?????

So.... anybody feel like arguing with me about the importance of shot placement IN ANY CALIBER now?

In a lot of respects, the shot placement was fine, but the angle of incidence was all wrong. A shoulder shot like that would be fine if you were shooting down toward the person and the TRAJECTORY takes the round through the vitals. Instead, it was essentially a glancing shot because the bullet entered at the wrong angle and does not appear to have entered or crosses through the rib cage/chest cavity.

A slightly different angle and you would have had a very nicely placed shot that severed the cervical vertebrae, which is a shot many hunters like to make.

Shot placement is nothing without the correct trajectory and penetration. It was a good entry location for a debilitating and likely crippling shot and the round obviously had enough penetration, but the trajectory was all wrong.

So I am just guessing here, but I assume the muzzle was close to the shoulder when the discharge occurred?
