Mal H., a question

Mal, the other day I posted a topic that should have been under Legal/Political, but wanted to draw attention to it here. Somebody else did the same thing with a link to an online poll. Isn't there _some_ way to get folks from topics such as handguns to check out a legal/political topic on the handgun forum without breaking the rules? There's so much going on, and so much is important. Just wondering if there isn't a "legal" way to get folks here to over there!

Dick - We must see this issue differently. Both Handguns and Legal & Political are two forums of The Firing Line. I have always opened both forums (along with most of the other forums) when I visit and I think most others do also. I think you are making an assumption that a majority of members only look at one or a few forums at most with Handguns being the prime forum. That may or may not be true, it's practically impossible to know. But there also may be those who don't want to see Legal issues when they are in the Handgun forum.

Anyway, the bottom line is we are going to continue trying to keep the forum topics somewhat akin to the stated forums description. It's far from perfect, and many threads fall through the cracks or will fit in more than one forum, but it's the way we're going to continue for now. HTH
