Making your own targets

I was looking to make my own shoot and see targets because the ones at the store are so expensive. Has anyone here made their own targets? I found this website http://www.visibilitytargets.com/ and the template idea looks interesting. Any other ideas on how to make them?

I'm lazy. Too lazy to make my own targets. Too lazy to search out a cheap source for targets. And, too cheap to pay for a bunch of shooting range targets.

So, I just buy two targets when I'm at the range - nothing fancy, just large bullseye type targets. I also bring a roll of black electrical tape and masking tape with me to the range. I tape over the holes in the black with electrical tape and holes in in the tan beige area with masking tape.
 
There is a really good youtube video on how to make your own revealing - healing self made targets!

not sure rules of videos on here so just Google "home made self healing target', it involves a knee board for gardening, spray paint, and ducktape
 
I don't make my own but I do use a free paper target available from midway usa. Occasionally I'll buy one of those large targets at the range when I'm not shooting so well. Flyers are discouraging.
 
I've seen a couple of different videos on YouTube on how to do it (different methods). The easiest seems to take some bright colored heavy stock paper, cover it with strips of clear packing type tape, and then spray paint it with an enamel or acrylic type paint. Then use a stick on bullseye that comes in packages. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcjuj1r5Wys. Others seem to mostly be variations on the same theme.
 
I never buy targets, but then again I have never used revealing targets either.
At one job I worked at I would wait until lunch time and just print off a heap, either ones I made on word/publisher or ones I found online.
Even printed off a full colour A2 picture of myself just for the hell of it, was a terrible picture. But probably not recommended.

Or just print them from home.
Or if you are really keen, get scrap paper and draw them yourself with a permanent marker.

This idea of making your own revealing targets sound interesting though, I might start looking at these links.
 
I hadn't seen that kit but I looked into it a while back and it just seemed like way too much trouble so I abandoned the idea. I have seen frequently that Midway has factory seconds for sale at a reasonable price so you might keep an eye out for them. I've got a color laser printer so I drew up a few and settled on one I like. I can get 2 on a regular sheet of paper and can put up 8 sheets on the backer board so I've got plenty of fresh targets during each shooting cycle.
 
I made my own with MS Publisher. Exported to PDF and put it on a USB drive. There are 5 "targets" per page. I print off 50 pages and it will last me 6 months or so of weekly range trips. I don't pay for the paper or the ink so why not?
 
I copy the large ones (sillouette, terrorist, zombie) at work onto the back of discarded plan sheets. Smaller bullseye I just run through the copy machine.
 
I buy cheap paper plates at Walmart and place dots in the center. The paper is thicker and bullet holes show up really well on the bright white paper.
 
I buy the dirt cheap paper plates at Sam's Club (you can get over a thousand for less than 5 bucks).

Then before a range day I draw red dots in the middle with a sharpie and I also make different rings using a sharpie on a string.
 
When I buy a 12 pack, I save the box.
On the bottom, I make a + or X on the back using non-gray duct tape or blue masking tape.
Then I shoot.
After I"m done, the box goes to recycling and the brass goes to my brass box.
 
Just checking -- have any of the last few posters actually looked at the original question?

It's about making your own Shoot 'n See type targets. If you don't know what those are, then Google is your friend.

I design different types in Adobe Illustrator, print and photocopy them. Pretty cheap and I have something no one else has.
