Making wood stock look better

I have an old .22 rifle that was my Pawpaws before he passed and I'd like to make the stock look a little better.

I'm not looking to refinish as I want to keep all the small nicks and dents right where he put them. I'm just looking for something to help clean the stock real good and something to apply to it, to make it look a little newer.

Ideas?

Scott's Liquid Gold furniture polish followed by Johnson's Paste Wax. The Liquid Gold will clean the wood, the paste wax will seal the grain and keep it looking nice.

Sorry I didn't post a picture...it wouldn't let me though. There is a picture of it though in the thread, "In Honor of my Pawpaw".

It's a Marlin 990 micro groove barrel from 1979 or 80.

Before using Formby's (I use it often when refinishing), I would suggest a treatment with HOWARD'S FEED 'N WAX, following the directions on the bottle.

It can be found online, and at many home-improvement centers, hardware stores, & fine or antique furniture stores.
