Makarovs Are Fun

I recently purchased three Makarovs, two Bulgarians and an East German. I have had a Russian commercial for a couple of years. It feeds HP, but the others didn't. One of my best friends who used to have a gunsmithing business worked over the feed ramp on the Bul and now it feeds everything. I am surprised at the accuracy of these Maks. I bought 2 of the Buls for $109.95 each and the EG cost me $159 both plus shipping and 10%. I realize the 9x18 is just a hot .380, but I don't feel helpless with it. Anyway it is the best money I have spent lately considering the fun I am having working up loads, etc. Jerry

Ecclesiastes 12:13  ¶Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

The Maks are indeed nice guns and the price tag is what makes them extra nice. I have a Russian commercial model with a double stack ten round mag. I eventually want to get the Bulg and German. Mine feeds anything including HP's and it's accurate especially surprising since the trigger pull is awful. One of these days, I'll have it fixed.

KOG:

Hang in there. My Bulgarian Mak had a really rotten trigger pull, stiff, gritty, etc.

I just bought four boxes of cheap ammo and shot it up, trigger pull improved greatly.

I then took the gun apart, cleaned out the sludge inside and greased all moving parts with RIG gun grease, worked great after that.
