Makarov: where to buy?

I'm looking for an unissued Bulgarian Makarov. I'm looking for an importer/surplus store such as AIM Surplus to conduct an FFL transfer to a local shop.

I'm interested in a Mak because of the reasonable price and a new addiction to communist/surplus weapons. I recently bought a darn new Yugo M48A from AIM. Now I'm hooked.

Please tell me more about the Makarov. What should I pay? Any other good modifications such as springs and better grips?

It looks like ammo is pretty easy to get.

Makarov's rule! I carry and East Mak daily off duty. I think East Germans are cosmetically and funtional the best Maks. Make sure you read up at MAKAROV.COM. If you pick up a Bulgarian you won't be sorry. I have pearce grips on my Mak.

SARCO also has some Bulgarian Mak's listed in the latest Shotgun News although they don't have very many. Beware though, once you own a Mak, you'll want more!
