I have a mak with markings on the right side that say, IZH-70 cal. .380 ACP. And made in Russia. On the left side it has, 40 years of Makarov 1993. With the serial number 0052. I have had no luck finding anything on this particilar model. If anyone has any info on this model, I would appericate any help. Is this a particularlly low serial number for this model?

The 40th Anniversary Makarov was imported by Big Bear Arms of Dallas and produced by Izhevsk in an edition of 1,100 pistols. They were on the market in early 1993. Original grip was the Russian red star type.

The serial numbering started at 0001 and ended at 1100, so your pistol 0052 is quite low.

These are a nice, fun, commercial Russian Mak variation. I paid $250 for mine, NIB, about four years ago.

HTH.

Thanks for the info. It does have the orginal grips. I can't wait for the chance to shoot it. I'm curious to see what kind of accuracy it has.
