Makarov CO2 Pistol?

I've got a couple of Makarovs I like, and I recently got my 10-year-old son a pellet rifle we've both enjoyed shooting. This has got me thinking that it might be fun to have a pellet pistol. I've been aware of these Makarov CO2 pistols for awhile, and am wondering if I should order one. I understand that they are made from real Mak parts, modified to accept a CO2 cartridge and a spring-loaded 13-shot BB magazines in the grip. I've read that they work pretty well, although one report was that they don't shoot very close to point of aim.

Has anyone tried these? I'm assuming that you have to either do the full DA trigger pull or manually cock for each shot (I guess it would be too much to hope that the things actually cock themselves between shots like the real thing).

Anyway, any comments or experiences with these would be appreciated. Other suggestions would also be welcome. I've looked at the Gamo pistol that looks kind of like the Sig 232, but I wasn't too impressed with its operation (DA all the time, etc.).

i dont like the idea of a pellit gun looking like a real gun especially with kids.get a pellit gun that looks different from a real gun.

Scoops,
I hadn't thought of that aspect. I guess it doesn't worry me too much because: (1) I expect my son, and everyone else, to practice safe gun handling with the pellet gun - it shouldn't be treated any differently than a "real gun" except that it could be fired with a less solid backstop, and (2) this is primarily for me.

I don't agree with the idea that pellet and BB guns are toys that can be handled carelessly and fired at people, animals, etc. because they probably won't do serious damage. My dad never got be a BB gun because kids treat them like toys (I know my friends did - and they shot at every bird and animal in sight with them). My first gun was a single-shot pellet gun. Rifled barrel, accurate, powerful, seemed and was treated like a real gun. I've done the same with my own son - he has a pellet gun, but we (so far) shoot it together, wear eye protection, and are very careful about how we handle and where we point it. I would keep the CO2 Makarov (or whatever I get) locked up just like my other handguns, and it would be handled with no less care than the real firearms.

I've thought about getting the same sort of thing, because I can't buy a real Makarov in Kanada (barrel too short), however, I haven't been able to find a dealer here that sells them. I DO have a Walther PPK/S by Umarex, which is very similar. The PPK/S operates just like a single-action semi-auto, and the slide "blows back" to re-cock the hammer for each shot. Accuracy is so-so, but they are fun to plink with.
