Maine/Pennsylvania Drop Reciprocity!

Pennsylvania has removed Maine from the list of states it had a reciprocity agreement with. PA now just lists them as a state a PA resident can apply for a non resident prmit. When Maine went permitless carry they also changed their statute on how they honor other states. They removed reciprocity from their law and now it just stats they will honor anyone who honors them. Maine removed the listing of 8 states they had agreements with and replaced it with a link to their new statute. Agreements usually have a inform clause stating if a states laws change that could affect the agreement the state will notify the other state. Maine most likely did and so the PA AG dropped them. They could have honored them without an agreement as they honor about a dozen other states without an agreement. www.handgunlaw.us has been updated to show this change in reciprocity. You can see both states listings at the links below.

CowTowner, Maine never honored Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Texas and Virginia. The only states they ever honored they had signed agreement with and those states were with the date they signed the agreements:

1. Delaware (March 13, 2009)
2. South Dakota (May 18, 2009)
3. Louisiana (June 25, 2009)
4. North Dakota - Class 1 Permits (June 7, 2010)
5. Wyoming (June 7, 2010)
6. Arkansas (June 21, 2010)
7. Pennsylvania (November 1, 2011)
8. Michigan (November 9, 2011)

With Maine's new reciprocity law stating they will honor any state that honors them the below listed states honor Maine so Maine will honor them.

AK, AL, AZ, AR, DE, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MO, MS, ND, NC, NE, OH, OK, SD, TN, UT, WY,
