Maiden voyage of new Colt SAA

I took my new Colt SAA (blackpowder frame, blue/color case, 7 1/2" .45 Colt) out for a spin today to check function and see how she groups. Two interesting things happened:

(1) At about 10 ft, Remington LRN, Winchester Super X LRN and Winchester Cowboy loads all shoot high left, in a 3 or 4 inch spread. That surprises me because it's a 7 1/2" barrel, and I expected tighter groups from a long tube.

Hornady cowboy, however, punched 4 rounds into a cloverleaf, touching, and the flyer was my fault. The group was also high left, but a lot tighter. What could make a gun shoot so differently? It's just powder pushing lead, so why the drastic difference?

(2) The cylinder bushing, which came out easily when I did my pre-shoot cleaning, now spins and moves partway out, but not all the way out. I soaked it with Hoppes and FP-10, and pushed on it a little with a plastic rod tip, but it won't budge past a certain point. It moves, but it won't come out. Any ideas?
