Magtech Ammunition

I was wondering if anyone here shoots magtech ammo.I do and I like it alot.Today I got another box of Magtech FMJ 158grn .38spl's,and went to shoot them out of my .357 snub. They shoot great, got good power, accurate, and clean shooting too.I got home from shooting, and reloaded my gun with my SD .357 ammo, and the .357's dropped right in like the gun hadn't even had .38's shot through it.And for as low as $15 a box of 50 .38's,I think they're a good deal too.Do you guys like Magtech, and how much do you pay for your magtech ammo of different calibers?

never used it in .357 but its my ammo if choice in .45 when I go to the range. for pretty much all the same reasons you like it. IMHO its great ammo

I've used it in .45ACP and 9MM and been quite satisfied with it. Have also been shooting it in my .30 cal M1 carbine and have had some feed problems with it and found the carbine ammo to be much dirtier than the pistol ammo.

I have shot some in 9MM and have not had any issue but it is more pricy than Blazer Brass

The blazer is a few bucks less for me.I tried the magtech LRN and even they were clean shooting, but after shooting 50 of the blazer aluminum cased LRN's,I could barely see my rifling it was clogged up so bad

In general I like magtech ammo. Decent accuracy, inexpensive, not super dirty. I really like their guardian gold line of SD ammo, especially their +P 230gr .45 stuff. My only bad experience with their ammo was their .38 158gr SJHP ammo. Even out of a 5" K frame, it chronoed out ~100 fps than their claimed velocity. I'm looking forward to getting my 9mm 115gr +P jhp from the sportmansguide once it arrives from backorder.

I've got some Magtech .357 target loads. They're pretty decent, don't kick or flash like my .357 self protection loads. I've shot only about 200 rounds of it, so I don't know how much I can say about reliability except that it never failed for me yet.

Most of my target practice and my in-town self protection loads are all .38 special now, and I haven't found any Magtech .38 spl loads for sale. Have to take what I can get in those right now. (sigh)

and clean shooting too.

I've got no problem shooting Mag-tech ammo. I've shot their .45 ACP and either their .38 or .357 ammo. In my opinion, it's good range ammo but I don't recall it being really clean shooting.

I CC with it in .44spl. I like it.

For your snub Federal came back out with their nylon coated, I forget the name but it is great in a snub. I am looking for some for my Colt DS, Nyclad I think.

I bought one of those 250 round mega packs of Magtech 9mm plinkers at Cabela's last summer for the on-sale price of around $65, IIRC. A pretty good deal so I couldn't pass it up.

Contrary to other folks' experiences, they were not quite as accurate as some other brands of plinkers in my guns and I found them to run a little dirtier. Good enough for killing paper, though.

If I came across another box or two, I wouldn't mind sending them down range.

I bought 3 boxes of 44 mag, 240 grain JSP's for my super blackhawk just so I'd have some brass to reload and thought it was decent stuff. I'll probly buy more.Oh, and they were 29.95 each.

I practice with it, in my Wilson Combat Professional almost exclusively since it shoots to the same point of aim as my 45acp 230gr JHP Federal Hydrashok ammo does.

I shoot magtech a lot and like it, never had a problem with it ... there's a box of 125gr .357 Guardians on my shelf right now, just waiting for me to drag out the 686+ .. IMO, excellent ammo ...

I haven't shot any yet, but I have just bought 300 rounds of .44M 240 gr SP for target practice. It is almost as cheap as reloads and it is new.

I sometimes shoot Magtech ammo out of my Desert Eagle .44 Mag. Most factory ammo I shoot from it won't fully cycle the monster slide all the time. But with the Magtech ammo the only thing slowing you down is how fast you can pull the trigger. Thumbs up here.

I've used it many calibers, .45,.40,9mm,.45LC and .380 with no problems beyond the fact that it won't feed in a V Criss Carbine lol
