DC for what it's worth while in the Army we had 1911 magazines that had been stored with FIVE rounds for over 30 years and they still functioned flawlessly. The old ammo still went bang every time.

DC; We went through this subject before. From my experience,I have had magazines loaded for many years with no problems. I think that is the concensus.

What they said. This comes up from time to time and it always seems to be settled that it's number of compressions that are the real factor; not time of compression.
However, it's agood idead to buy a *bunch* of rebuild kits for all your high caps and other mags. They're cheap enough from the factories and your grandchildren will thank you for passing on a *working*, illegal weapon.
