Mags For 669

I have a "Slick & Willie" 669 9mm that I purchased a few months ago. Since it only came with 1 mag, I would like at least 1 more.
I have not seen them listed in ads, and do not want to purchase them from the factory for obvious reasons.
Do mags from other models fit this???
Does anyone else make them???
Thanx,

I hope you bought it before the sell out to Satan.

The S&W 6906 uses any mags made for the 5 series of DA autos. You can use mags from the 5906/5904 and even the venerable 59, but these will stick out about a 1/2 inch. You can also use mags made for the 6904. Preban S&W mags are plentiful and relatively cheap. You can also get MecGars. I've never had trouble with a MecGar mag in any pistol I've used them in, they're top quality.

Try http://cdnninvestments.com/smithwesson.html They've got 12 rounds mags listed for $40 but I'm not sure if these are prebans or LEO only.

I find the 6906's extended mag base a nuisance. I'd replace them with a flat mag base from a 5906 mag. This still allows for a firm grip but for licensed carry it conceals a lot better.

I understand not wanting to buy SW mags, but if you get prebans the money SW got has long been spent and they're not going to be replaced with new ones. If you absolutely don't want to deal with the factory than get MecGars.

Thanx Tecolote. Info is very helpful!
Yes, I bought it before the sellout. It was a police trade in. Price was very good, could not resist. It has been 100% reliable so far. Gotta love that!
I do not buy from places that tell me I do not have the right to gun ownership or self protection!!
Therefore, I have not and will not, spend my money on products from Gillette,Levi Straus,Sarah Lee,K-mart,etc.
I will gladly boycot others that I may not know of at the present.Do you know any others??
Thanx.

The other 59series mags will work in a 469 or 669, but don't fit, as previously noted. Functional, but not pretty.

Call CDNN at the number below, or visit their websie, shown below.

CDNN has them from ProMag for the 669 in blue for $14.99. had almost no problems. That is NOT true of some other after-market mags.) Mec-Gar are great mags, and make many original mags for gun makers, including those for S&W and SIG.

CDNN also has factory stainless mags for the 669 for $29.99 which, I think, would be a better magazine. (S&W sold these to CDNN a LONG time ago; Buying S&W mags for a 669 isn't going to give S&W a cent.)

I ordered from them, online, the other day, and got real fast turnaround.

I've got a 669, and it is a fine weapon and very accurate. I've got several original mags (from S&W) and one ProMag.

Dennie,

Always glad to help out a fellow TFLer. Walt's advice on the factory orebans from CDNN is right on the money. I don't think you'll find NIB factory prebans for under $30. Get them while you can.

I like the 6906 a lot. It's always been extremely reliable, accurate at combat distances, and a lot of fun to handle. The only change I would make would be to replace the factory Lexan grips. I find that they chafe and the angular cuts along the top make them uncomfortable for long range sessions. Luckily Hogue now makes grips for the 6906, either rubber or wood. Of course you could take the economical route and sand them down a bot with fine grit paper.

I bought several original S&W magazines last year at gun shows. Bought 2 for $50.00 the last time.

Could look into buying more this weekend for you if you want me to.

Let me know...
Keith
