Magpull Foregrip

I've been working on my CMMG AR-15/M4. I just put in a CMMG two stage trigger, love that. I put on a Magpul MOE forearm. I do not like the verticle forearms, but I am thinking the Magpul slanted version. I shot an AR with one, and just a few shots, I seemed to like it. My hand was in a natural position. I think it would increase weapon control in rapid fire.

What do you guys think of them? What rail would I need? Also, when I put a rail on it I would like to be able to remove the Foregrip and put on a bench bipod

I absolutely love my afg2. It is a well designed piece of gear. Would recommend the afg2 over the afg as it is more compact. Still, it takes up almost an entire carbine length rail. On the moe handguard, you will almost need a full length rail panel.

The MOE isn't going to play well with things attached to it, like a bi-pod or vertical grip. Been there, done that....it gets loose quickly. I've seen the same complaint in other forum threads. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, friend or foe. :D There is a reason it sells for cheap.

If you want to attach a bi-pod, you will need a decent rail that will handle it. Do you want one that is free floating or not? I've used a Troy drop-in non-free float rail and it worked well with a bi-pod on it....good enough to survive a 4 day carbine training course when dropping to prone under time pressure. I've also used a Daniel Defense free floating rail with a bi-pod. It too works very well and what is currently on my M&P15. Neither were cheap.

My S&W M&P 15-22 comes with a (non free floating, semi-perm-connected) quad rail, and I have it covered with XTM panels except for the bottom, which I use an Angled Fore Grip (this was before there even was an AFG2 but in this case I wouldn't have wanted the shorted version anyhow.) I love it, my 15-22 is all about CQB and small, compact, light, quickness... (It's got a MOE Stock but closed all the way and permanently closed, as NJ allows absolutely no stock adjustments so it has to be fixed pinned , but not fixed/pinned ALL THE WAY EXTENDED, so I chose to go the closed route, I'm a small dude anyway). ... and with the AFG I can handle my 15-22 awesomely and shooting it is a pleasure.

Now my 5.56 AR, came with an A3 upper but a front sight base. (I would have rathered a full quad rail and lo pro gas block and front BUIS to go with the rear BUIS bu hey thats not what I bought lol ) so I went with the MOE Hand Guard. On the MOE hand guard I decided to install the MVG, MOE Vertical Grip, which attaches direct to the MOE Hand Guard. Now it's completely different than the AFG but it's still great. I love them both. I will probably admit to loving the AFG more and would use the AFG on lots of my firearms applications but the regular MAgpul fore grip is great too

I thought they were 'gimicky' until I used one.

^^This. They work.
