magpul ubr can't be side folded?

can someone please tell me why the magpul ubr can't use an ACE side folding mechanism but the ctr can? it seems like everyone is trying to decide between a ubr or a folding ctr. why not have a folding ubr?

Probably because the UBR uses a proprietary buffer tube.

still. why wouldn't i be able to mount the buffer tube to one of their receiver blocks and mount the receiver block to the side folding mechanism?

apparently you can. i just found a guy who did it back in '08.
