Magnum Research graphite "Magnumlite" barrel results.

I recently installed a Magnum Research Graphite "MagnumLite" bull barrel and a Hogue overmold stock on my old Ruger 10/22. I took it to the range today to re-zero it after the barrel swap and to try it out.

Results/impressions:

1. Big increase in accuracy over stock barrel.

2. The rifle is much better balanced and better handling with the Hogue stock.

3. The terrible factory trigger weight and pull are now two of three limiting factors.

4. The other limiting factor is my scope. I now need a good target scope instead of the old 3-9X40 that's on it now.

Here's a picture of two of my groups at 25 yards using Fiocchi M300 MACTH ammo. There's no way I would try a 50 yard group with the aweful factory trigger and the scope that's on it now. The red numbers used for aiming points measure 3/4". Both of these groups measured right at 1/4" center to center. Not too bad for the aweful trigger and unsuitable scope.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the barrel. The stock will probably be replaced with a good Boyds target stock. The scope is being replaced by a BSA 6-24X40 target scope as soon as it comes in.
