Magnum research 1911 opinions

I'm considering getting a 1911 and saw a magnum research model in the local gun store. Any opinions on quality / reliability? thanks in advance for your help!

Magnum Research has only been offering 1911s for a couple or three years. Theirs are made in Israel by BUL, a company that has been making firearms (and 1911s) for some time. I've never seen or shot a Magnum Research, but they're probably okay. It wouldn't be my first or second choice of brand if I were looking, but I can't say anything bad about them.
 
Only reason I would never buy it is due to the lame "Desert Eagle" branding... That being said, if it is made in Israel by BUL, it is probably a very good 1911 for the price...
 
I have one DE 1911G and it is one of my top 2 1911's that I own. I'm comparing it to my guns below. My gunsmith who is ocd, on 1911's tore it down and called me a few days later. and said "... This gun needs nothing..." I shot it hundreds of time with 0 issues. It's perfect for me.....

4. Safari Arms MatchMaster .45
5. Olympic Arms MatchMaster .45
6. Kimber Custom II .45
7. Springfield Armory RO .45
8. Taurus PT1911 .45
9. Para USA SS Expert .45
10. Desert Eagle .45
11. Sig C3 .45
12. STI Trojan .45

It shoots this all day long with JHP or FMJ it doesn't matter at 21 feet.



FYI- yes the gun is empty

The ones I've handled seem very well made and had nice triggers. Other than the giant billboard on the side of the gun, they are pretty nice looking.
