Magazines

How many magazines do you have for each weapon?

The general rule of thumb for me is 6 for any rifle that takes a mag and enough to hold a box of 50 for pistols. I'm no where close to that but thats the goal. 1911=8 mags, P226/glock/xd/mp=3 mags or 5 mags if you live in an unfriendly 7-10 round state

Either way, I may only carry one or two extra's but I like being able to work speed reloads, etc with 2-3rds in each magazine so having a bunch helps.

Of my 4 Guns only my Mini-14 takes Magazines.

I only had 3, 1 Five-rounder, and 2 30's, and I was set to buy a couples 20's but then the panic set in, so that hasn't happened.

I would like a couple 10's, and maybe 10 each of the 20's and 30's.

I stock magazines with a certain purpose in mind for that particular system. One might be for potential defensive purpose, while others may be moderate range volume, and others very low volume, occasional shooting.

I have enough magazines for a basic load of 5.56 (210 rounds) and .40 Cal (45 rounds) to be prepared for a "Katrina" event; 3 or so for handguns where I may shoot 100 or so rounds at a time but wish to minimize time spent reloading at the range; and only two for my M1 Carbine, which is fired infrequently.

Since my basic defense needs are met, I'd just as soon collect another firearm as collect magazines for firearms that I own but don't use in high volume.

I only have 1 long gun- Savage Mk2 bolt action- 2 10 rd mags and 1 5 rd mag

All of my pistols have 2-3 mags, except my CZ-75BD which has 3 full mags and a 10 rounder (one I bought just in case any "hi cap" mag laws got passed- mostly a back up and range mag for now.

5 is pretty much my minimum for a semi-auto of any kind.

If it's one that gets a lot of use for one reason or another then more is better.
