Magazine pouch for CZ82

So I 've been thinking of adding my CZ82 to my carry rotation. However, the problem comes in with trying to find a decent open top magazine pouch for a spare mag. I have used the Bianchi 20A magazine pouches and like them but they don't make one for a double stack .380 ACP /9mm Makarov magazine. any suggestions?

With a 12+1 capacity is there really a need for a spare magazine?
Figuring if I need more than 13 rounds for self defense I made a really dumb choice about where I am, and what I'm doing.

Look for one made for a Beretta 84fs or the Bersa Thunder Plus. They will work for the CZ-82. A lot of the makers will make them for you, you just have to call them.

Have a pouch that came with my '82... hard to find.
Check with SARCO Inc... go to 'Holsters'... they always have a wide variety of Military Surplus holsters.

Idea about what? That it seems odd that you are concerned enough about firepower to want to carry an extra mag, but accept 380acp ballistic performance?
Not that power at that level isn't adequate, just seems somebody thinking they need more than 13 rounds would also be wanting something more powerful.

But here you go, 62 of them left at this site.

I saw a CZ 82 holster made by UGB Holsters in a gunzine. The owner/craftsman, Nate, is a Marine. I had his OWB Regulator for my CZ 75 Compact, two matching OWB mag pouches. and a matching gun belt -- great kit. The CZ 82 was not on his gun list, so I asked if he would make a Regulator for my CZ 83s. He agreed, and I got two mag pouches to go with it. Good products, fair prices.

Cheapshooter, a spare mag is nice in case of a mag-induced failure. Also, a spare mag isn't much to tote and I've never heard anyone emerge from a gunfight complain about having too much ammo. The average number of rounds per gunfight is far less than 13, but a winner doesn't plan for an average encounter. You have to plan for a worse-case scenario. Also, the average police gunfight hit rate is reported to range from 17% to 30%. Do the math and you can understand why police turned in their revolvers for high capacity Wonder 9s (typically accompanied by two spare mags).

Sometimes 5 is enough, sometimes 15 is too little, but you'll never know until it's over. A reload on your belt is never wrong.

He has an 82 which is chambered for 9x18 Makarov and that offers slightly better ballistics than a .380.
I know exactly what the CZ82 is chambered for. I have one! The 9X18 Makarov and 380acp are ballistically so close that they are virtually the same round!
A miniscule 5 grains of bullet weight at the same velocity for a tiny 11 ft lbs of additional energy.
For basically the same size, and weight you could carry a Glock G19 in 9MM Luger with a 15+1 round capacity. Or for a hammer fired SA/DA 9MM, even made by CZ, the 2075 RAMI is very close in size, and weight to the old 82 model in 9X18 Makarov chambering.

No flames please, lets just agree to disagree, OK. Since this is a forum and the very act of posting invites opinion:). I will say I agree with Cheapshooter , but that again is why they made different flavors of ice cream. I can think of no reason why they make any flavor other than coffee or black walnut, I can think of no rational reason of carrying a spare magazine for a 13 shot CCW. but hey, that is just me. What ever floats some ones boat.:D

Well, that's good, but the OP has a CZ 82 and is looking for magazine pouches.

Surplus holster that came with my CZ82 carries a spare mag inside.

Yup, that's what came with both of the CZ 82s I bought. Came with a spare mag as well. For something under two Benjamins. Oh the good old days of C&R milsurps.:D

Best option is to find a Kydex sheath maker who would make one for you. Ebay has some quality makers that may be interested; I picked up a nice, single piece, folded, open-top mag pouch for a Shield magazine. I'm actually interested as well and have a pretty talented wood worker I know that dabbles in Kydex and leather. I may take him a mag and the Shield model to see if he could make me one.

Regardless of magazine capacity, it's prudent practice to carry a spare mag...not so much for extra capacity, but a fast way to solve a FTE and get your handgun back in operation.

I picked up a couple of those CDNN mag pouches. They were in good condition, and after a quick dab of black shoe polish they looked virtually new. Of course, the OP asked for something with an open top, but that's what they make utility knives for.

I prefer mag pouches with a flap. They look a lot like knife sheaths that way, and they don't draw any attention because so many people carry a knife or a Leatherman on their belt.
