Magazine Pictures

How come all of the gun reviews in magazines when showing groups of the guns fired, they are all touching, but off the target or in the 7 ring. It seems that they should be bullseyeing the groups for that "buy me" affect.

Hube...probly for the same reasons that in watch add they have the hands set at 4 and 8... [[or is it 10 and 2?]]

And why is it that in toothpaste commercials they show people brushing their teeth and in shampoo commercials they show people washing their hair but in tampon commercials they show people jogging?

Those groups are probably shot from a machine rest. The sights were on the center of the target; the picture shows you how far off the factory sights are re: point of aim versus point of impact. I have read several articles bitching about guns coming from the factory with sights so far off that you could aim at the bullseye and shoot your own elbow. (BTW, the Ruger P95 we bought recently was so close in POA/POI it's not worth messing with -- it seems to shoot about a thumb's width to the right at 21 feet.)

With adjustable sights, this is not that big an issue, but with fixed sights, or a gun that shoots high (requiring a taller front sight blade to correct) it does matter.

If you don't buy this explanation, just figure the writers are all lousy shots, but at least they're consistent. :)
