magazine brush?

So just watching a vid, I will link below, where a Glock competitive shooter recommended a magazine brush. Never seen one, rarely clean my mags, maybe once a year or so. He recommends cleaning after each shooting session from what I can see.

To me it seems like it might not be a bad idea. Things do collect dust, if not dirt and debri.

they are around the $20 mark on amazon currently.

Really, 20 bucks? Save your money to purchase more ammo.

You can use any soft nylon bristle or soft type brush to clean the inside of a magazine. Just move the brush and rod around inside and clean it.
I do it on occasion, but the inside of the mags don't appear to get that dirty. But I guess it doesn't hurt to clean.

I generally keep a few of these around and the cost is 3.99 (or was) at Amazon or Wally world.

I disassemble and clean my mags maybe once every 5 years. The don't get that dirty.

The process is push a rag through the body with a stick or ruler, wipe off the follower and then spray the parts and inside the mag with silicone spray.

No special tools needed.
