I don't have the resources to check this out and see if it's true so maybe someone can check this out and let me know....
Also need to know if it's possiable to take a S&W 40cal mag and use it in the same way in a 69XX.
Thanks in advance.

Got this from another list:

Uhmmm, ever notice how a beretta .40 cal magazine (say for a mod 96D) and a beretta 9mm magazine (say for a mod 92F) seem to measure out identical EXCEPT that the .40 has two capacity indicator holes drilled in the back/spine with markings of 5 & 10 and the 9mm has three capacity indicator holes drilled (in slightly different locations) with markings of 5, 10, & 15.

ever notice how you can take a "10 round capacity" .40 mag and put 15 9mm in it ?

did I just let the secret of the universe out :-/

Now knowing how it seems that it is in violation of federal law to use something in a manner other than described on a/the label it would be "bad" to put 9mm ammo in a "marked" .40 cal magazine...

I guess I'd better keep all my 92F stuff away from my 96D stuff... or would doing that be in violation of some anti-segregation laws ?

Yes, 15 rounds of 9mm with fit in the 96's magazine.

Yes, it is against the law to use them in this manner. :barf:

Yes, they will have to catch you doing it. ;)

I'm told that you can put 13 rounds of 9mm into a .40 cal P7M10 magazine, instead of anteing up for the 13 round P7M13 mag. I guess the same applies to the Beretta.

No, I only use P7M13 mags in my P7M13. For 85 bucks apiece, it's not worth the possible ramifications.
