Mag holder position...

I have four mag holders. Where exactly are they suppose to be positioned (right hand shooter) on your gun belt in Production class IPSC shooting?

for production in uspsa, all mag pouches and holsters must be behind the hip bone. you can feel the hip bone on each side of your belly that is the forward most position. after that you could have mag pouches on your belt till they hit your holster. although you shouldn't need that many.

your holster should be on you right side(or you strong hand.). mag pouches on the left

That's what I thought. But, I've seen video demonstrations and the shooter appears to be wearing them much closer towards the front of the body. Maybe it depends on the class. I need to practice and I want them in the correct position. Thanks

Most of the IPSC/USPSA guys in my area wear them forward. I don't know what the rule is there, but if they're violating it nobody seems to care.

For IPSC behind the hipbone

For all divisions except Open and Revolver Standard, where they can go all the way round to the front.

I would imagine something similar applies in USPSA.

Stay safe,

Juan Carlos
