Mag Carrier

So does anyone use a spare mag carrier? If so how do you carry it, IWB or OWB and what position? I bought a Blackhawk double stack at Cabelas, mainly because it was the only one they had and so far I havent found a comfortable way to wear it. Any suggestions. Thanks.

I have two mag carriers to accompany each holster -- two pocket Remora pouches to go with my Remora holsters, and two leather OWB pouches to go with each of my UGB Regulator holsters. I have one nylon holster with a mag pouch integrated into the front -- a nice design, but I've yet to use that holster.

I typically do not carry a spare mag -- shame on me; but, when I do I wear one UGB OWB pouch on my offhand side, or carry one Remora pouch IWB or in my front pants pocket on my offhand side.

One design I'd like to try is a horizontal OWB pouch, as that looks to be the most comfortable -- nothing to poke you.

I have an OWB kydex mag carrier for my Glock, but I don't use it, preferring to carry the spare mag in my off-side pocket. I also have a Sig P238 that I pocket carry when needed, and the mag is small enough that I use the Remora product mentioned above in my off-side pocket, mainly to keep it oriented correctly.

I also use Remora mag carriers. Even in a pocket they work well, and are more comfortable than a mag alone. I carry mags for an SR9c or LCP.

For concealed carry, I use a nylon knife or multi tool sheath with a Velcro closure flap. It's one that will attach to my belt on my off-side in a horizontal position. This makes it both more comfortable and concealable for me. And if anyone happens to notice it, it just looks like I've got a multi tool on my belt.

I use either a one mag ...or a double mag...leather ( horsehide ) by Kramer leather ...gun on my right side, mag pouch on my left side around 8 O'clock...nice and comfortable - Outside Waist Band.

( I have double and single pouches for Sig 239's, Sig 226's and 1911's )...

If I carry a revolver ...I will carry a speed strip with 6 rounds ...in a pocket.

Someone on this forum tipped me off to this product. I've had one for months now and I really love it. The original premise is to draw the magazine backwards, but if you get one set up for the opposite hand you can draw forward. I really like how slim its profile is, as well as the fact that it offers some retention. They make ones specific to different pistol models.
