mac's "shootin' iron" restorations

If you do a search on my handle you will find a post about a MAK 90 I had refinished by Mac with a picture or two.

Basically, the gun was trashed due to rust from a corrosive that had melted onto it.

When I got it back the gun looks better than new. It also shoots smoother, ie trigger group is very nice. No mechanical change, just Mac's treatment.

His turn around is quick and the service is excellent.

The only downside is that the finish has a bit of texture to it. For a field rifle I think you can't go wrong. The finish has been tough as nails so far.

Mac is one of the best deals going. He turns out a great product, very fast turn around time and if there's a problem, it gets fixed with no BS.

The coating is nice. I actually like the tooth that the coating places on the metal. The texture isn't all that noticable, but it really helps when you are in a hot IPSC or IDPA stage, your hands are sweating and you need to rack the slide.

I have a bunch of guns, both long and hand done by Mac and will advise anyone looking for a moly finish to use him. I am finishing up a commander for my Mrs. that will be given her as a present. I actually decided against Rogard in favor of the Guncoat.

I've not had a gun done by him. I did speak with him at great length on the telephone one day. Based on his knowledge and demeanor, I would NOT hesitate to do business with him.:)

I've had 3 guns done by Mac so far: Kahr, HS2000, and my AR-15 (complete). All 3 excellent work and great prices, amazingly fast turn-around, but the thing that will keep me coming back is his outstanding customer service. Lots of people have good products, but I prefer to spend my money with someone interested in their customer, and Mac certainly is.

Here's a picture of my P9. It's a brushed stainless steel slide covered with Mac's Tuff-Gun. It's not a great picture, but you can see what there is for "texture." It doesn't show as well in the pix, but the engraving ("Kahr," etc.) is crystal clear, and you can clearly see the "alignment mark" for stripping the gun to the lower left of "Kahr."

I'll be going back with other weapons. Call me a satisfied customer.
