MAB Model D Safety Question

Okay, I recently acquired my uncle's MAB Model D semi-auto in .380. The barrel stamp says 9mm, but obviously it's a 9mm "short", meaning .380. No way this chambers a 9mm!

My issue is the grip-safety requires a very strong grip to work properly due to the grip safety. Even then, consistent fire is downright aggravating!

Thoughts...suggestions????? I'm just looking to get it to shoot consistently.

I have a Model D and have handled quite a few, and I think there is something wrong with your gun. It should not take anything except a normal grip to work the grip safety. It could be just grease or dirt or something could be installed wrong.

I'm not at all familiar with this pistol, but it looks like an easy enough one to disassemble for a thorough cleaning. I'll definitely be doing a search for some diagrams via Numrich and such first, just in case I run into a "spare parts" issue! LOL But seriously, thanks for the reply and reassuring me it's not me.
