M91 carcano ??

I just bought this rifle a week ago. It has been sporterized, and from all my research I have concluded that it is a M91 carcano. if anyone can help me, it will greatly appreciated. I know that I need to purchase the en-bloc stripper clip in order to fire more than just one manuel load at a time. I am not for sure if I will be doing any work to it to put it back closer to original, or just leave it the way it is ( besides adding some sort of sights ). once again, any help in identifying the correct model, manufacturer, year made, where to buy parts/ammo is appreciated. So far the best part of the rifle is the rifling is in great shape and I only paid 65.00 for the gun. here are three photos of the sporterized version of my rifle. I have pics of markings and proofs, if anyone could help identify the origin and manufacturer, I could e-mail those pics. thanks for the help.

I haven't a clue on the pictures problem ... but let's talk about your Carcano a bit anyway.

Barrel length? Describe rear sight .... fixed or adjustable? List any markings.
Caliber? If sporterized, describe as best you can.

Those will be a start. I'll add that you CAN reload for it at REASONABLE cost per round once you're set up for reloading. There is lots of good data out there as well.

You are correct about the clip ... but single loading by pulling the bolt out is really no big deal.

Post answers from above and let's see where it goes.

When using Windows 7, open your photo from My Pictures. Notice the tab, edit, organize and share, click edit. You should see a feature "resize". Click that , it should open a window, that gives you options to choose smaller or larger pixel contents.

This site limits your photo to 244KB, I believe. Some members use external photo resourses such as Photo Bucket, which I have no experience with.

Try fiddling with the tools available to you in the MY Pictures browser. Good luck.

Have fun, just got one myself, the model 38 carbine! There is actually a lot of info and parts out there just Google! There is even a Carcano forum. It cycles well and fires great with the PPU ammo. The more expensive Norma has a fatter case rim which gives feeding problems due to interference with the extractor.

Well, the pictures tell me it's a Carcano ... but that's all. It appears to have NO sights at all. Has it been drilled and tapped for a side-mount scope base?

Looks to have been a decent sporter conversion ... but it may not be worth your money to have a gunsmith mount front and rear sights. Having said that ... be advised that I've wasted money (and will continue to do so) on
rifles that would have been better left alone; so don't feel bad about it if you want to do it.:D
