I picked this up recently from a local fellow. I'm not sure it's for me, but I thought I'd share it here.

They are neat rifles. Norm Sutton does a bolt conversion to centerfire and ammo components are available from Buffalo Arms.

There is a good rundown of the Swiss Vetterli rifles and carbines here:

http://www.swissrifles.com/vetterli/detail/index.html

Those rifles today look like something from the era of the flintlock, but in its day that rifle was well thought of and considered quite advanced. (Remember that the U.S. was still using the "trapdoor" single shot and Great Britain was using the Snider and Martini.)
