Hi all,

Picked up a piece kind of on an impulse buy but I have always wanted. a S&W m629 .44mag/spcl w/ a 4'' bbl.

It was used but in superb condition. I paid $425. Did I do ok on the price?

Yes, you did o.k. cuz a NIB Smith N' Wesson
Classic .44 magnum in your choice of barrel length's
list at $614.00 at my local shop. But, on
cash basis the classic can be had for $509.95
+ 8% sales tax.

Thanks all. I definitely wanted to buy the S&W used so as to not support their company. But, they make a pretty darn good revolver.

The shop had two I was interested in. The one i picked up, and a m629 classic w/ 5'' bbl. it was $500. A little bit more than I wanted to spend.

Oh they make outstanding revolvers, (their semiautos suck) as does their politics and their lack of patriotism... Another thanks for buying used...

Hey 7th Fleet,

Yes I agree their semi-auto's are sub-par (especially compared to my favorite tactical tupperware from Austria)

But, my old man has a model 39 9mm that has never failed or jammed at all after many many rounds. Of course we are talking about a single stack mag 9mm which was a major design flaw considering the advantage of the 9mms are the hi-cap mags. But at any rate that old 39 works well.
