Does any one own a Springfield M6 Scout and do you know if they still make them? A local dealer today told me they do not and will start up again in the fall. I find this hard to believe but maybe..

Thanks

.45,

Bought one about two months ago from my SW Washington
dealer. At the time he said he was having trouble getting anymore
but I was in there a couple days ago and noticed that he had them back in stock. Neat little gun.

m-6

I have a 4 year old m-6 made by CZ for springfield armory that i love. Mine is 22LR/410 and i just picked up a 22 hornet insert that goes in the 410 barrel. I bought it for a always keep in the truck survival gun and will bet my life on it. I heard that SA was going to have someone else build these guns so that may account for the shortage, but as a note i would look for a CZ as they are bank vault tough, accurate, and reliable. Good luck. wp

I agree with wp on the M6...

get the CZ version, without that dreadful piece of junk they call a "trigger guard".

22 Hornet Insert

Where did you get the insert from? Who made it? How much was it? How does it shoot for you?

I love my .22/.410 M6 but I "discovered" the 22 Hornet shortly after purchasing it and have really taken to that little cartridge. I've been itching to get another M6 with a Hornet barrel but it just hasn't made it to the top of the priority list. That insert sounds like it might be just what I'm looking for.

Any details you could provide would be much appreciated!

m-6 insert

jaeger--- I orderded it from MCace out of alaska. I dont know the addy but a search for barrel inserts should get you there. I really like the insert and it can be sighted in to use your existing sights,by turning to change the strike of the bullet, and then putting witness marks on both the insert and the gun chamber so you can reinstall the same way every time. I put a nail nick for spent case extraction but found the bottle opener from a multitool, saved on sore fingers. With the insert i can shoot everything from 22 cb shorts all the way up to the hornet so i feel well covered for most any situation. If you would like more info please feel free to e-mail me at ( wasp@sstelco.com ) WARREN

I'm considering getting one for a truck gun too. My friend has one and we could hit bowling pins at 225 yards  I think it had that little Springfield Armory 2.5x scope on it. The trigger takes some getting used to, but once you do, its a shooter!

Thanks for the info WP. I found their web page and will be contacting them soon.

I think that 2 small scopes, in Warne QD rings, one set for the Hornet and one set fot the 22 will be just the ticket!
