M4A1 with suppressor

Hi
I just fired M4A1 with a suppressor on. The noise level was like that of a .25ACP pistol.

How do we make the noise less? Is there subsonic 223/5.56 ammo out there or are there other techniques?

Thanks

That's about as good as it gets with normal ammo (I also thought it sounded like an unsuppressed .22). I find it comfortable to use without ear protection )outdoors), but I'm, not sure it doesn't do any hearing damage at all...

There is subsonic .223 ammo though, but that kinda defeats the effectiveness of the round and I don't think it will reliably cycle the action.

Yea, subsonic ammo in the .223 is like putting a lawnmower engine in a F1 race car. If you want subsonic, get a 22 rimfire and some subsonic ammo.

You could get a Ciener kit and run 22 subsonic through your AR but make sure you put some regular 223 rounds down the can afterwards to blow the crap out. 22 through a can makes it very dirty.

Better still, get a 45 upper and new can for your AR. Most 45 rounds are subsonic to start!!:D
