I'm going to a gun show tomorrow and may pick up a Mauser to add to my collection of military weapons. Which one, a M48, K98 or a VZ 24, would make a good addition and a good shooter? Thanks in advance.
I have a M98k and a VZ24. The VZ24 is probably the better gun. I am no expert, but
most of the Czech weapons I've seen were made prior to the war, so the quality is much better. Be sure to check the barrel for wear. Some of the M98's I've seen are just about shot out. Mismatched bolts are no big deal as most of these guns were arsenal refurbished after the war. Good luck and happy hunting!
