I just picked up a hungarian m44 carbine , does anyone know where i can get a manual for free/...download etc? And any good places to get cheap ammo? any comments about the rifle will be welcome.

My first Mosin-Nagant was a Hungarian 44, too. Congratulations: You've just taken your first step on a slippery slope to filling your house with ugly Russian and Finn rifles - my wife's condolences to your wife!

The M44 is even more fun to watch someone else shoot! The pained looks after a few magazines are priceless.

I love to shoot it, but it takes a toll.
